Job description

We are supporting a well-established provider as they expand both new and existing Children's EBD services across Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme. They are now looking to appoint multiple Residential Care Workers and Team Leaders to join their small, stable and therapeutic homes.

Whether you are newly qualified, progressing through your Level 3, or an experienced Senior/Team Leader, there are opportunities available at several sites, offering long-term development and a positive working culture.

The Roles

You will be supporting children and young people aged 8-17 with emotional and behavioural difficulties within small, nurturing residential settings.

  • Providing consistent, trauma-informed care and daily support
  • Promoting independence, emotional wellbeing and positive routines
  • Supporting children with education, activities and community engagement
  • Contributing to care plans, risk assessments and incident reporting
  • Working as part of a stable, supportive staff team
  • Participating in rotas including sleep‑ins (paid and included in salary)
Team Leader roles additionally include
  • Leading shifts and guiding staff practice
  • Ensuring documentation, safeguarding and reporting standards are maintained
  • Supporting the management team with development of the home
What We're Looking For
  • Experience within children's residential care (EBD preferred)
  • Level 3 Residential Childcare (or working toward) for senior roles
  • Strong safeguarding knowledge and commitment to child‑centred care
  • Resilience, compassion and the ability to build positive relationships
  • A stable, reliable and professional approach to teamwork
Salary & Benefits
  • Residential Care Workers (unqualified): from £31,654.90
  • Qualified Level 3+: from £34,302
  • Team Leaders: from £36,358 (All salaries inclusive of sleep pay and set to increase)
