Are you passionate about transforming the lives of young people?

GSL Education is working with a therapeutic children's residential setting in Coalville (LE67) to recruit Residential Support Workers who are committed, resilient, and nurturing in their approach.

You will support children and young people aged 8–18 who have experienced trauma, emotional or behavioural difficulties, and require tailored care and support within a safe and structured environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide consistent, high-quality emotional and practical support
  • Support children with daily routines, activities, and community participation
  • Work as part of a team to implement personalised care plans
  • Promote independence and life skills through positive engagement
  • Handle challenging behaviour with empathy and appropriate strategies
  • Work on a shift rota including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins (where required)
  • Working towards or already hold a Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) or equivalent
  • Experience working in a care or similar setting
  • Understanding of the needs of young people aged 8–18
  • Strong communication, initiative, and teamworking abilities
  • Resilience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Good physical health and emotional fitness for the demands of the role
  • A commitment to regular attendance and punctuality
  • Full UK driver’s licence and access to own transport
  • Personal or professional experience supporting children with SEMH or trauma
  • Willingness to continually develop skills through training
