A charitable organization in Coventry is seeking dedicated volunteers to support children with learning disabilities in fun and inclusive activities. Volunteers will assist with weekend sessions and contribute to the social and emotional wellbeing of children. Responsibilities include encouraging participation and maintaining a safe environment. Experience in child care is a plus but not essential. Opportunities for training and references available.
Midland Mencap is a charity which works and campaigns for accessible and inclusive services and a better quality of life for everyone with experience of learning disabilities and additional needs.
Volunteering with Midland Mencap is your opportunity to help us achieve our vision.
Children with a learning disability or additional needs are often isolated and excluded from mainstream leisure and social activities. We believe that EVERYONE has the right to have fun and feel safe.
From day-time school holiday provision, weekend activities and Outdoor Adventure programmes, Midland Mencap’s extensive service helps young people make friends, have fun and grow in their social and emotional wellbeing.
By volunteering just a few hours at our activity sessions, you can help us to deliver high quality, person-centred social & recreational activities and support to children, young people and their families.
This role might suit someone considering a career in child support or care services and looking for practical experience as part of a school/ college/ university course.
We hold weekend sessions (Saturday & Sunday) between 09.30 – 16.00
We also offer daytime activities in the school holidays.
