Overview

Service Care Solutions is working in partnership with a Bedfordshire-based local authority which is seeking a skilled Childcare Solicitor to join their legal team. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a varied caseload of childcare law and related matters, while making a real difference in the local community.

Role

Childcare Solicitor

Location: Bedfordshire – agile working

Umbrella Rate: £50-£55ph

PAYE Inc Rate: £44.10 - £48.44ph

Contract Length: 3 months ongoing

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality legal advice to council officers and members on complex childcare matters.
  • Manage your own caseload, including care proceedings, adoption, and safeguarding issues.
  • Represent the council as an advocate in courts and tribunals, working with minimal supervision.
Requirements
  • A qualified Solicitor or Barrister in England with a current practising certificate/rights of audience.
  • Minimum 5+ years’ PQE (essential) with proven experience in childcare law.
  • Strong advocacy skills, particularly in childcare cases.
  • Local Government legal experience is desirable but not essential.
Benefits
  • Agile working – there will be a requirement to attend court in person but the rest can be done from home.
  • Weekly pay – the rate offered will depend on experience and interview performance.
  • Flexible hours.
