Role Overview

We are seeking an accomplished and visionary Executive Chief Financial Officer to join our Board. The successful candidate will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and advise the Board on financial, contractual, commercial, and performance matters, overseeing the finance, performance, procurement functions and ensuring the effective management of resources in line with our Exceptional Care Together strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Craft and implement financial plans and frameworks, ensuring effective execution.
  • Provide a structure for performance management and support the CEO in maintaining a strong working relationship with NHS England and the Derbyshire and Staffordshire Systems.
  • Oversee the development and delivery of the Trust's Estates and Capital programme and large‑scale projects.
  • Appraise and manage the organisation's charitable funds.
  • Act as an effective role model, promoting collaborative leadership behaviours that uphold our values of Compassion, Openness and Excellence and providing strategic vision and support to all colleagues.
  • Oversee finance, performance, and procurement functions, ensuring delivery of financial objectives.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Proven leader with a track record of driving organisational change within a complex healthcare environment.
  • Experience in executive finance leadership and in managing large-scale projects.
  • Strong strategic vision, commercial acumen and ability to build relationships at a senior level.
  • Commitment to inclusive and diverse leadership.
