A leading healthcare provider in Dartford is seeking an Operational Manager to lead the Blood Transfusion and Haematology services. The successful candidate will oversee staff management, implement innovative practices, and ensure compliance with national guidelines. This role requires effective leadership and operational management skills to ensure high-quality care across various locations.
This role is open to all internal staff and Kent and Medway Partnership Network Pathology staff, including those registered with our Staff Bank. North Kent Pathology Service is a joint venture between Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust and Medway Foundation NHS Trust, and the post holder may be required to undertake duties at any location across North Kent Pathology Service to meet service needs.
The post holder will provide operational leadership and management to staff across the Blood Transfusion or Haematology services at both Darent Valley and Medway Maritime hospital sites. They will provide leadership for service transformation and the implementation of operational and clinical innovations for the Department. They will provide line management to the Biomedical Scientists (BMS) and Health Care Support Workers (HSSWs) as well as overall management for all staff within the aligned service. The post holder will ensure that the service runs smoothly and efficiently over the 24-hour period, ensuring adoption and alignment to national guidance and local pathways, processes and protocols. This includes drafting, implementing and reviewing departmental policies and guidelines.
