Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Building Surveyor to join our client, an established multi-discipline consultancy in Cheltenham. This is an excellent opportunity to work on both national and local commissions across a diverse range of sectors, including public buildings and estates, residential & housing, retail, healthcare and commercial.

The projects you will be involved with will vary in scale and complexity from small refurbishment schemes to large developments exceeding £30 million.

Key responsibilities
  • Delivering client management and contract administration services
  • Carrying out building and condition surveys, defect analysis, and preparing dilapidation schedules
  • Advising on design, construction, maintenance, refurbishment, and compliance with building regulations
  • Preparing specifications, tenders, maintenance programmes, and administering contracts
  • Managing Party Wall matters, insurance claims, and remedial works
  • Leading and coordinating projects, involving in-house multi-disciplinary teams
  • Supervising, mentoring, and supporting junior surveyors within the team
  • Undertaking technical reviews to maintain service quality
Skills & experience required:
  • MRICS qualified with demonstrable consultancy experience
  • Strong technical knowledge across all aspects of building surveying
  • Proven ability to lead projects and manage teams effectively
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills
  • Strong analytical, written, and reporting abilities
