Job description
Overview

Barts Health NHS Trust is recruiting a Cervical Screening Provider Lead (CSPL) to provide senior leadership and oversight of the NHS Cervical Screening Programme across the Trust. This pivotal role supports safe, effective and high quality screening services, improving outcomes for women across East London.

The post holder will provide assurance through performance monitoring, audit, incident oversight and structured reporting to Trust governance forums. A core responsibility includes ensuring registration and audit of all invasive cervical cancer cases and maintaining oversight of robust failsafe systems for referrals, results and follow up.

Working closely with clinical leads, commissioners and regional QA teams, you will coordinate Trust responses to SQAS activity, embed learning from incidents, and support the development of clear SOPs and quality management systems. This role requires excellent leadership, credibility, and the ability to influence across professional and organisational boundaries in a complex multi-site environment.

Responsibilities

The cervical screening provider lead (CSPL) is a senior member of staff formally appointed within an organisation providing cervical screening services. The role is to oversee and coordinate the quality and effectiveness of the NHS Cervical screening programme services provided within the organisation. Overall responsibility remains with the clinical leads. CSPLs play a vital role in the audit of invasive cervical cancers and in ensuring that the individual elements of the local programme work together to provide the best possible services and outcomes for women. The post holder must have an in-depth knowledge of the Cervical Screening programme.
