Job description
Responsibilities
  • Assist in providing a high-quality food service to patients, staff and visitors, responsible for performing general catering duties such as service of food, cleaning of premises and equipment, preparation of snacks, salads, sandwiches, vegetable prep and beverages.
  • Utilise safely mechanical and electrical equipment including operating wash-up machine/floor cleaning machine following appropriate training as required.
  • Check meal order sheets that have been submitted to ensure correct food is served as per the request.
  • Have knowledge of allergens within food service.
  • Assist in the introduction of new staff under the guidance and advice of the Catering Shift leader/Supervisor.
  • Provide food service to patients, staff and visitors.
Stock Responsibilities
  • Receipt and storage of goods in accordance with the departmental HACCP procedure.
  • Occasional responsibility for the opening and closing of the main kitchen along with assisting senior chef with cooking duties.
