Overview

Are you a seasoned manual labourer with a background in carpentry, looking for a fresh and exciting opportunity? Our client, a leading manufacturer of window furnishings and accessories, is on the lookout for a talented Skilled labourer to join their dynamic warehouse team of 20 in Leatherhead.

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 dependent on experience. Hours: 40 hours per week, 8:00am to 5:00pm with an hour lunch break.

Responsibilities
  • Work in the woodworking department preparing curtain poles and pelmets for finishing.
  • Cutting, routing, sanding and precise measuring with emphasis on accuracy, as products are bespoke.
  • Manage own workload from printed work lists to ensure all orders are completed on time.
  • Preparation of brass/metal for finishing including sandblasting and preparation.
  • Work in the finishing departments as required—assisting with metal polishing, antiquing and wood staining/hand finishing.
  • Opportunity to learn skills from other departments as you develop in the role.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience in woodworking or metalworking in a factory environment.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, with good interpersonal skills and ability to work within a small team.
  • Ability to work individually with good attention to detail and quality control.
  • Woodworking skills: cutting with industrial saws, precise measuring, angle cutting, and creating mitred joints and routing.
  • Time management: ability to manage workload and prioritise deadlines.
  • Willingness to undertake other responsibilities as required, including packing and other manufacturing roles.
