A private household in Liverpool is seeking a Carer/Support Worker to support a sociable young man with Down's Syndrome and profound hearing impairment. The role involves supervising activities, encouraging fitness pursuits, and fostering a friendly relationship. Qualified candidates should have patience, excellent communication skills, and ideally a driving license. The position is part-time at £12.75 per hour, with the possibility of an immediate start. The client is a sociable, funny young man who loves life, football and tik tok.
He has Down’s Syndrome and is profoundly deaf but has a cochlear implant so can hear. His speech is limited and sometimes hard to understand but he will repeat his words and indicate his needs well.
He needs constant supervision as he had no understanding of road awareness or stranger danger etc.
6 hours a week.
Free Monday and Friday evenings or Sunday afternoon.
£12.75 per hour.
An enhanced DBS check may be required by the employer; this cost will be met by the employer.
