A prestigious university in Coventry is seeking part-time Careers Coaches to support the career development of MBA students. The roles involve providing 1:1 coaching, group activities, and professional development support, ensuring students maximize their employability outcomes with tailored guidance. Ideal candidates have extensive experience in coaching and a strong understanding of MBA career paths.
Two part-time Careers Coaches are being sought to support the career development of our part-time MBA students. One role (0.5 FTE) is based in London and the other (0.5 FTE) in Coventry. This is the Coventry-based post. The London post follows a five-over-seven working pattern and includes a pro-rata London Weighting Allowance.
The purpose of this role is to support the career development of PTMBA students, including Executive MBAs, Global online MBAs, Accelerator MBAs and DBAs, delivering career provision in a variety of formats, including 1:1 guidance and coaching, group activities and e-learning as appropriate. You will also provide, alongside Career Managers, careers and professional development support at every stage from application to WBS through to graduation, helping students access opportunities for career transitions to maximise employability outcomes.
The successful candidate is a highly credible and adaptable professional with a strong academic foundation and extensive experience in career development, coaching, and talent management. They bring deep knowledge of MBA and executive career paths and have a proven ability to support ambitious, high-potential individuals through tailored coaching, guidance and development interventions. They are an excellent communicator, able to build trust and influence effectively with senior stakeholders, students, and global corporate partners. They thrive under pressure, balancing multiple priorities with strong organisational and project management skills, always delivering high-quality outcomes that meet demanding client expectations. Ideally, they also hold a postgraduate qualification in business, coaching, or HR and bring expertise in psychometrics to enhance their coaching practice.
The WBS CareersPlus department provides faculty-based careers management and professional development support across our whole student portfolio and maintains engagement with our global alumni community. Our team of over 30 staff works closely with WBS faculty, corporate partners, and programme management to ensure services meet global recruiter needs and are integrated into academic delivery.
