Care Assistant (Nights) – Residential Care Home (Newport)

Nurse Seekers are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established residential care home in Newport for a dedicated and compassionate Night Care Assistant. This role is ideal for an experienced care professional who is confident working night shifts and committed to providing high‑quality, person‑centred care to elderly residents in a residential setting.

Hours
  • Average 20 hours per week on a bi‑weekly rota
  • Alternate weekend working required
  • Night shift patterns: 17:00-22:30 and 22:30-07:30
Pay Rates
  • Weekdays: £12.60 per hour
  • Weekends: £14.24 per hour
Key Responsibilities
  • Providing high‑quality care and support to residents throughout the night
  • Assisting with personal care, mobility, and comfort needs
  • Administering medication in line with training and policies adaption
  • Monitoring residents' wellbeing and responding appropriately to changes
  • Maintaining accurate care records and handovers
  • Ensuring a calm, safe, and supportive environment overnight
Requirements
  • Previous experience within elderly residential care
  • Medication trained
  • Ideally, prior experience working night shifts
  • QCF Level 2 in Health and Social Care, or working towards / willing to work towards this qualification
  • A caring, reliable benadrive and patient approach
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a night team
