About the Role

Reporting into the Senior Procurement Manager for Cement & Sustainability, the successful Capital Procurement Manager will have responsibility for circa £200m annualised Capex Procurement for UK businesses. You will also liaise with directors & internal senior stakeholders to ensure efficient Capex procurement processes.

What you’ll be doing
  • Have expert management of strategic relationships with key country Capex suppliers to drive value aligned to the objectives of Tarmac
  • Proactively engaging and influencing stakeholders including Engineering, project management and senior levels in the business
  • Being the business expert in Capex procurement process both in end to end process knowledge, tendering, supply market & contract management
  • Effectively leading the Capex procurement team including workload management, process improvements and excellent communication
  • Maximising the value of capital budgets by effective tendering and negotiation and proactive business engagement and responsiveness to stakeholders.
  • Ensuring highest ethical principles and standards are implemented
  • Developing & implementing the procurement strategy to drive sustainability improvements for Tarmac; contributing to the net zero carbon initiative both within UK operation & the supply chain
What we are looking for
  • Ideally MCIPS qualified.
  • Experience in Capex procurement in an engineering business environment.
  • Experience in managing and improving capex procurement end‑to‑end process and driving improvement and efficiencies.
  • Experience in project management and delivering projects.
