Job description
Overview

We are looking to recruit a Canteen Supervisor who will be responsible for preparing hot & cold food as well as supervising our canteen at our distribution centre in Bristol, Avonmouth. This permanent full‑time position works a variety of shifts between 6am and 6pm (6am–2pm, 8am–4pm, 10am–6pm) any 5 days from 7, including weekends. Pay is £15.71 per hour and you will be guaranteed a minimum of 37.5 hours per week. Overtime is regularly available for those looking to earn more.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise all colleagues working in the canteen.
  • Order all food items and restock the canteen as necessary.
  • Monitor stock to ensure the canteen is not over‑stocked and hazardous materials are safely stored.
  • Maintain a safe working environment for all, ensuring all health regulations are complied with.
  • Maintain accurate canteen records, filing of ordering, receipt and associated documentation.
  • Coordinate the daily operation of the canteen and oversee the preparation of food and counter services.
  • Identify stock requirements and place orders with appropriate vendors on a regular basis.
  • Participate in regular stocktake, recording and reporting processes.
  • Ensure food storage and handling is appropriate, hygienic and in accordance with the standards outlined by health controlling authorities within relevant legislation and regulations.
What we’re looking for

This is a busy canteen, so the ability to work under pressure without supervision is essential. Candidates should be able to communicate effectively and possess general numeracy and literacy skills. A basic food hygiene qualification would be desirable, as would an understanding of workplace health and safety.
