The ideal candidate will have experience in procurement, strong negotiation skills, and a solid understanding of supplier management. Qualifications

Hydrasun is a recognised market leader in the provision ofintegrated fluid transfer, powerand control solutions.We are focused on supporting the energy transition through our workinthe oil and gas, renewable energy, general industrial and marine industries worldwide.

We are recruiting for a Buyer to join our Purchasing team in Aberdeen.

Essential Experience, Qualifications and Competencies

  • Previous experience within a procurement environment, ideally in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.
  • Qualification in purchasing methods.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Strong understanding of terms and conditions, with the ability to negotiate and draft into contracts/purchase orders.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel, with XL proficiency important.
  • Working knowledge and experience of ERP systems (we use Syspro, but any base understanding is helpful).
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to plan and organise workload, prioritise tasks, and demonstrate a flexible, “can do” approach.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact at all levels.
  • Initiative to drive forward projects and procedures.
  • Experience in a buyer role preferred; understanding of equipment and instrumentation will help.
  • Ability to work in a busy environment where priorities can change quickly—even hourly.
  • Strong team working skills, accountability, drive, diligence, and willingness to mentor/share knowledge.

Desirable Experience, Qualifications and Competencies

  • Experience with Hydrasun products or a similar range of products.
  • Experience in solution finding.
  • Planning and scheduling skills.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Process all requisitions and pricing requests promptly and efficiently, in line with company procedures.
  • Source, price, purchase, and supply materials and services in accordance with the Company Business Management System.
  • Ensure all orders placed meet requirements, protect Hydrasun’s interests, and are legally binding.
  • Analyse and evaluate offers, addressing commercial, contractual, and technical issues.
  • Select appropriate suppliers in line with Supplier Management Strategies.
  • Commit purchase orders in a timely and cost-efficient manner, within financial authority limits.
  • Run and manage MRP reports daily, placing stock orders as required.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring suppliers fulfil contracts/purchase orders.
  • Monitor all confirmed orders with suppliers, ensuring on-time delivery and supporting the Expeditor as needed.
  • Act as a conduit between suppliers and Hydrasun, advising on changes to products, delivery, lead times, prices, and availability of new or alternative products.
  • Process invoice queries and approve changes in a timely manner.
  • Manage strategic suppliers and support the setting up and supervision of Supplier Agreements.
  • Close out NCRs and CIFs as required.
  • Complete and issue status reports as needed.
