How You’ll Help Us Make Health Happen

We're looking to appoint a seasoned buyer to help support our procurement within the IT procurement tower. This is a highly commercial role combining a high degree of stakeholder engagement with the need to prioritise and be self‑motivated. The Buyer is accountable for their specific category, with responsibility to ensure products and services are sourced competitively and cost effectively which includes identifying and delivering cost savings.

In Addition, The Job Holder Will

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive category/purchasing plan which has a clear savings/opportunity pipeline.
• Establish or follow category prioritises based on benefits and opportunities and business requirements.
• Actively set, lead and drive the timeline for sourcing initiatives.
• Lead contract negotiations on behalf of the organisation and develop negotiation plans.
• Develop innovative solutions by challenging the status quo and business requirements.
• Interface with stakeholders to ensure requirements are understood.
• Actively contribute to meetings and events and act as a Procurement advocate, positively raising the profile of Procurement throughout the organisation.
• Maintain commercial confidentiality and conduct supplier relationships with the highest standard of ethical conduct.

Key Skills / Qualifications Needed For This Role

• Ideally holds a Graduate Degree.
• Desirable MCIPS qualified or is studying towards this qualification.
• Sourcing experience and expertise.
• Experience of delivering savings through driving sourcing and category procurement activities.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Comprehensive experience of working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure a successful commercial outcome.
