Description
V.Ships Leisure is looking for Butler on behalf of Orient Express Sailing Yachts.
The Butler creates the “Orient Express” experience by bringing a personalized and curated level of service to Guests in their suites and throughout the vessel. The Butler always provides a personal six-star service to all guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides a personalized, varied and professional guest service expected of a world-class butler service.
  • Greets guests upon arrival and helps them to settle in their Suite, introducing the suite and ship’s facilities.
  • Gathers information from guests and ensures proper dissemination of such in all departments.
  • Assists guests with all needs throughout their stay (various bookings, packing and unpacking, laundry delivery, suite decoration, etc.) as per SOP manual.
  • Provides concierge type services and accompanies guests onboard the vessel as needed.
  • Observes guests’ routine to anticipate needs ensuring maximum satisfaction.
  • Collects guests from the gangway and escorts them to their suites on embarkation day (check in) and explain the suite functions and amenities.
  • Provides breakfast, lunch, dinner including 24-hour room service to guests upon their request.
  • Provides daily canapés, teatime, turndown and bar service to guests upon their request, in respect of USPH guidelines and protocols.
  • Makes onboard reservations, pack/unpack and shine shoes for guests upon their request.
  • Ensures deliveries (such as laundry, gifts, times fax etc.) to guest suites.
  • Responds to guest complaints in a considerate, professional and positive manner by showing concern and listening actively and reports all complaints for following up.
  • Active participation in onboard training programs.
  • Additional duties, not mentioned here, will be expected as per management request.

Education/Experience/Qualifications:
  • Fluent English and two additional international languages required (French, Spanish, Mandarin, German).
  • Education: High school degree or related. Formal training in an established Europe-based Butler school mandatory.
  • Previous professional experience: 2 – 3 years in a similar capacity in a luxury environment.
  • Shipboard experience: Not required.
  • Valid STCW certificates.
  • Valid Pre-Employment Medical.
