As an 'Anywhere Worker' position, the role will involve a combination of remote and office‑based working. There will be an expectation for you to attend the office based at Ely House, Basildon, approximately 1 day per week in addition to 'as and when' there is a business need. There may also be a requirement to attend other Essex County Council offices during the Fixed Term Contract.
Essex County Council (ECC) is one of the largest and most dynamic local authorities in the UK and is undergoing significant transformational change to further enhance customer focus, service and delivery. As part of this, the Business Support team will work in specialised Business Centres to promote specialised knowledge and improved service and efficiencies.
The Business Support Assistant works as part of a business support team to deliver effective, routine administrative support to a team or service. Learning and developing an understanding of existing processes and systems, with a good basic knowledge of the Function. Providing routine clerical support to a team/service/Function (e.g. word processing, data entry, updating databases, meeting support, meet and greet, directing customer queries). Managing day to day work, ensuring this meets ECC and local policies and procedures.
This is a varied and challenging role, as a minute taker within our team, you will be supporting a variety of ECC meetings varying from social care meetings for Adults & Children, through to Corporate and HR meetings.
