Overview

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic Part-Time Teacher of Business and/or Economics. This will be on a one-year contract initially, with the potential for extension. Due to growth in demand in Business, Shiplake College is looking to recruit someone to teach on one or two days on a reduced timetable. This is a superb opportunity for a suitably qualified practitioner to join an innovative and successful department.

Responsibilities
  • Teach GCSE Business (Key Stage 4) and A-level and BTEC Business and/or A-level Economics (Key Stage 5).
  • Demonstrate high standards of teaching and learning, inspire and challenge all pupils, and instil a passion for the subject.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the School as a tutor attached to a house, undertake duties, and contribute to the co-curricular programme.
  • Work with colleagues to maintain a rigorous learning environment and support pupils’ personal and academic growth.
  • Engage with early career teachers as well as experienced practitioners to uphold department quality.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Ability to teach GCSE Business (KS4) and A-level Economics (KS5) and/or A-level Business/BTEC Business.
  • All levels of teaching experience will be considered; applicants should strive for excellence in all aspects of practice.
  • Capacity to instil enthusiasm for the subject and create a rigorous learning environment.
About the School

Shiplake College is an independent boarding and day school for around 580 pupils aged 11 to 18. The College is fully co-educational, with a Sixth Form and extensive facilities on 63 acres near Henley-on-Thames. We offer small classes, excellent facilities, and a supportive working environment.
