This role has a starting salary of £33,552 based on a 36-hour working week. If the successful applicant is a uniformed fire officer, they will receive an additional payment in accordance with Grey Book terms and conditions.
We are excited to be hiring a new Business Education Officer to join our fantastic Community Resilience team, based at our Fire Safety Team office in Walton.
This role is part of the Surrey Fire and Rescue Service and is a front-line support service in a specialist area working as necessary with volunteers, community, professional groups and local organisations to ensure provision of a service.
The Business Safety Team manage Safe and Well Visits in the business community, protection policies, and the SFRS Risk-Based Inspection Programme amongst others. This role will be responsible for working in partnership to deliver the business safety programmes with a specific focus on the Business Safe and Well visits across the county. The post holder will be instrumental in educating and working with businesses and key stakeholders.
This role will involve the planning and organising as a key element, mainly in terms of planning own time and prioritising for the weeks ahead. Although most work will follow established patterns, initiative is needed to resolve problems and queries based on experience and judgement, mainly without reference to others, but with access to clear guidance.
The position is based at one of our fire safety offices, and there is a requirement to engage with businesses within the Surrey. Access to a vehicle will be given on a pool car basis, therefore a full driving licence is required.
