Business Development Representative

Location: Remote - South West England
Region Covered: Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Somerset & Wiltshire
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary: £35,000 + Company Vehicle

About the Role: We are working with a well-established line marking and tarmacking contractor based in Torbay who are looking to recruit a Business Development Representative to support growth across the South West. This role is going to be “on the road” covering the South West of England, working from their Torbay office when required.

This is a predominantly remote, field-based role focused on generating new business and developing long-term client relationships across commercial, private and public sector clients. The position suits someone who is highly proactive, comfortable with cold calling, and happy to be hands‑on in promoting services on the ground.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and generate new business opportunities across the South West region
  • Actively visit potential clients, sites and target areas to promote services
  • Carry out cold calling and follow‑up activity to convert leads into opportunities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with private contractors, commercial clients and local authorities
  • Promote line marking, non‑slip surfacing and decorative surface treatments
  • Target sectors such as industrial estates, car parks, warehouses, golf clubs and public spaces
  • Work closely with the Marketing Specialist to align sales activity with marketing campaigns and growth plans
  • Maintain accurate records of client activity, opportunities and pipeline progress
  • Represent the business professionally at all times, acting as a brand ambassador.
About You
  • Proven experience in business development, sales or account management
  • Background within construction, civils, highways, surfacing or a related sector
  • Confident communicator with strong relationship‑building skills
  • Self‑motivated, proactive and comfortable working independently
  • Willing to be hands‑on and visible in target areas to promote the business
  • Full UK driving licence
