Job description
Overview

Grade Level: 12. The role is Business Development Lead, Private Markets Valuations within the Private Market Valuations team, a market leader supporting clients with independent valuations of illiquid debt and private equity investments. The business development team leads client engagement and commercial strategy to grow revenue, expand the firm’s footprint, and drive go‑to‑market initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent the firm externally and grow relationships with prospects and clients.
  • Participate in new business initiatives in private markets, a key area of strategic growth and investment for S&P Global.
  • Take on a leadership role in defining the future of our go‑to‑market strategy and serve as a product expert on private asset valuations.
  • Assist sales teams in presenting our solutions to the market and developing sales enablement materials and thought leadership pieces.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients and prospects, including handling renewals and client inquiries.
  • Organize and lead client demos, meetings, webinars, and roundtables to promote solutions and gather feedback.
  • Lead go‑to‑market initiatives and campaigns for valuation services targeting private market participants.
  • Partner with the marketing team to develop sales enablement materials and white papers.
  • Identify and execute cross‑sell campaigns.
  • Contribute to the development of internal business performance analysis tools and processes for tracking sales and revenue metrics.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Subject matter expertise in private markets, asset valuation, fund accounting, fintech, or sales.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with business intelligence tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex projects and report on results.
  • Strong business acumen and a track record in a client‑facing role.
  • Excellent communication, organization, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Collaborative mindset and willingness to work intensively with colleagues.
