Job Title: Business Development Manager Heating and Cooling Systems


Industry Sector: Building Services, Air Handling Units, AHU, HVAC, M&E, Industrial End Users, Manufacturing Plants, Logistics Warehousing, Automotive Dealerships, Distribution Centres, Luminous Heaters, Tube Heaters, Warm Air Heaters, Heating Systems, Hydrogen Powered Heating Solutions, HVAC, HVLS Fans, Radiant Heating, Hydrogen Heating Systems, Electric Heat Pumps, Electric Infrared Heaters, Plaque Heaters, Air Curtains, AHU Air Handling Units, Rooftop Units


Area to be covered: Large South East & Anglia


Remuneration: £40,000-£50,000 + £20,000 Bonus (possible guarantee 1st year)

Role Responsibilities:
  • Field sales role promoting high-end manufactured range of natural gas, electric, and hydrogen radiant heaters, as well as tube heaters, plaque heaters, warm air heaters, air curtains, gas heat pumps, AHUs, HVLS fans, VRF heat pumps, hybrid heat pumps, air conditioning, and chillers.
  • Providing complete turnkey solutions including supply, installation, service, and maintenance packages.
  • Allocating approximately 40% of your time to direct sales to end users in manufacturing, distribution, logistics, industrial, and hospitality sectors, with clients including BMW, Amazon, Rolls Royce, DHL, and various football stadiums.
  • Selling 30-40% into M&E contractors, primarily mechanical installers.
  • Influencing specifiers such as M&E consultants and local authorities (aiming to grow the specification sales side).
  • Focusing on new business development, targeting a large volume of lapsed/dormant customer accounts.
  • Achieving a revenue target of £500,000 in the first year.
  • Handling order values typically between £10,000-£50,000.
  • Conducting site surveys, preparing proposals and designs, including taking measurements and photos.
  • Delivering presentations occasionally.
  • Occasional overnight stays may be required.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • Experience in HVAC or building services field sales industry.
  • Technical knowledge in heating and cooling systems.
  • Field sales experience with M&E contractors and consultants.
  • Knowledge of radiant heaters, tube heaters, plaque heaters, warm air heaters, air curtains, gas heat pumps, AHUs, HVLS fans, VRF heat pumps, hybrid heat pumps, air conditioning, and chillers is advantageous but not essential.
  • Background in mechanical engineering or heating preferred.
  • Open to candidates from reputable sales backgrounds outside heating/cooling with excellent sales training.
  • Existing contacts within end users, M&E contractors, and consultants are beneficial.
  • CAD skills are useful.
  • High drive and energy levels essential.
