Location: South UK Preferred, Midlands or south of. Home-Based with UK Travel

Salary: £90,000 Basic + 30-40% Bonus + £8,500 Car Allowance + Benefits

The Role

This home-based Business Development Manager role sits within the Generator Division, focused on securing new project opportunities and expanding presence in key verticals like data centres and rail.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Driving new business and managing strategic accounts across southern England
  • Developing leads within facilities management, construction, utilities, and industrial clients
  • Promoting generator products, projects, upgrades, and control systems
  • Working closely with internal engineering and delivery teams to scope and quote solutions
  • Attending trade events, site visits, and client meetings
Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, develop, and win new business opportunities across target sectors
  • Promote the company's full generator offering: products, upgrades, controls & turnkey projects
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships at all levels
  • Work alongside marketing to target shows/events and online activity
  • Update CRM and submit regular sales performance reports
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and project delivery
Required Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in business development or technical sales within critical power, generators, or capex engineering solutions
  • Strong knowledge of containerised generator systems, engines, alternators, and associated kit
  • Track record in data centre, rail, or infrastructure sectors preferred
  • Able to engage senior stakeholders and manage long sales cycles
  • Self-motivated and comfortable with remote working and frequent UK travel
  • Commercially aware with strong presentation and negotiation skills
