Role Purpose

The BDM will play a key role in expanding client base, identifying new business opportunities, and developing strategic partnerships within the commercial Fit Out construction sector.

The role focuses on generating sustainable growth by building relationships, securing new projects, and increasing market presence across residential, commercial, and public‑sector fit out construction markets.

Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Growth

Identify, pursue, and secure new construction contracts and development opportunities.

Develop a robust pipeline of prospective clients including developers, architects, consultants, local authorities, and private investors.

Conduct market research to identify emerging opportunities, sector trends, and competitive insights.

Prepare compelling proposals, capability statements, bids, and tender submissions.

Client Relationship Management

Build and maintain strong, long‑term relationships with key stakeholders.

Act as the primary point of contact for new and existing clients, ensuring a high level of client satisfaction.

Attend industry events, networking meetings, and trade shows to represent the company professionally.

Strategic Planning

Support senior leadership in shaping the company’s growth strategy.

Develop and implement business development plans aligned with revenue and expansion objectives.

Identify potential strategic partnerships and joint venture opportunities.

Commercial & Financial Awareness

Work closely with commercial and project teams to ensure accurate pricing and competitive tendering.

Review project opportunities for commercial viability and strategic fit.

Contribute to forecasting and budgeting for business development activities.

Marketing & Brand Development

Collaborate with internal teams to enhance company visibility through online presence, case studies, and targeted marketing campaigns.

Promote the company’s expertise, project portfolio, and service capabilities.

Required Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in business development within the construction industry preferably Commercial Interiors.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, procurement routes, and tendering procedures.
  • Excellent networking, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to create persuasive proposals and presentations.
  • Commercial awareness and ability to evaluate project opportunities.
  • Self‑motivated, target‑driven, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Business, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Professional memberships (e.g., CIOB, RICS, APMP) are advantageous.
