The candidate shall be expected to live in, or near Essex, as well as being able to travel nationwide. The role provides flexibility with some working from home.

About the Business Development & Key Account Manager

Your primary focus will be driving business growth by identifying and securing new opportunities, particularly through your established network within the food manufacturing sector. Your emphasis will be on expanding the customer base, introducing innovative solutions, and collaborating with internal teams to exceed sales, profit, and performance targets.

Key tasks
  • Continually grow the business by building strong customer relationships, spotting opportunities, and delivering plans that match the company’s strategy, keep up with market trends and competitors’ offerings.
  • Manage key customer accounts, acting as their main contact providing excellent service, solving problems, meeting compliance standards, and introducing new products to increase revenue.
  • Lead projects from idea to delivery, ensuring clear communication, successful trials or demonstrations, and negotiating contracts and pricing to maximise customer satisfaction and business growth.
  • Work closely with internal teams sharing insights, supporting innovation, and use market knowledge to grow accounts and improve company offerings.
About You

The successful candidate should possess a commercial background of sales experience in a B2B environment within UK food manufacturing. You will have well-established connections within large Bakery, Cereal, Health & Functional Food, Dairy Alternative, Plant‑Based, or Healthy Ready Meal manufacturers.

Remuneration

The Business Development & Key Account Manager job is based in Essex and offers £50,000 - £65,000 + benefits according to your experience.

The working hours are Monday to Friday, usual office hours.
