We are a family-owned business with a reputation for quality, reliability, and technical expertise — combining modern manufacturing with hands-on customer service.

About the Role

This role sits at the centre of our sales operation.
You’ll handle customer enquiries, support the external sales team, maintain CRM accuracy, and generate new business opportunities through proactive outreach.
It’s a hands-on position for someone confident engaging customers both in person and over the phone, someone who can turn project information into genuine commercial opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Customer Engagement & Product Display Area

  • Welcome and assist visitors, builders, and specifiers who come to view our outdoor product display area.
  • Provide clear, professional advice on masonry and retaining wall systems.
  • Maintain the presentation and stock of samples, brochures, and displays.
  • Record all customer interactions and enquiries accurately in Zoho CRM.

2. Lead Generation & Prospecting

  • Identify and qualify new project opportunities using Glenigan, inbound enquiries, and social media.
  • Research and reach out to relevant decision-makers within target companies.
  • Engage contacts through LinkedIn, email, and phone, combining professional cold calling with tailored follow-up.
  • Build and maintain a warm pipeline of qualified leads for follow-up by the sales team.

3. CRM & Pipeline Management

  • Keep all project, account, and contact information accurate and up to date in Zoho.
  • Triage new leads promptly and allocate them to the correct Sales Representative.
  • Track tenders, quotes, and opportunity stages to ensure full visibility across the sales team.

4. Sales & Marketing Support

  • Prepare quotations, documentation, and sample requests for customers and specifiers.
  • Coordinate literature and materials for housebuilders, merchants, and contractors.
  • Support marketing campaigns, events, and trade shows by managing responses and capturing follow-up actions.

5. Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Provide regular updates on lead generation, outreach activity, and CRM performance.
  • Suggest practical process improvements to enhance efficiency and customer experience.
  • Maintain strong product knowledge and awareness of market trends.

Skills & Attributes

  • Confident, engaging communicator who is comfortable with outbound calling and face-to-face interaction.
  • Tenacious, organised, and commercially aware.
  • Excellent attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; CRM experience preferred (Zoho advantageous).

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs (including English and Maths) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in a sales support, customer service, or business development environment.
  • Strong IT literacy, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience working with a CRM system (Zoho preferred, but any CRM acceptable).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable:

  • HNC / HND / Degree in a relevant discipline such as Business, Construction, Architecture, or Design.
  • Experience in construction, building materials, or manufacturing sectors.
  • Basic CAD literacy (AutoCAD or similar), ability to view and interpret simple technical drawings.
  • Experience using Glenigan, Barbour ABI, CIS or similar construction lead platforms.
  • Familiarity with LinkedIn Sales Navigator or similar outreach tools.
  • Full UK driving licence.
