About the Role

Our huge warehouse estate in Yorkshire is held together by the Warehouse team, the warehouses have an enormous amount of tech that allow us to receive, store, pick and pack items for our customers - handling everything from socks to sofas! The Warehouse team focuses heavily on automation which includes 40 miles of conveyor linking everything together across our sites, hundreds of storage and picking robots - a very fast moving, continuously changing part of NEXT Technology.

In this role, you will be key to delivering our technology roadmap, from this season's plan to the next and beyond. You will provide essential continuity through business-as-usual support whilst also driving improvements to our integrations, monitoring, and reporting capabilities. Working with stakeholders across the business, you will assess processes, capture detailed requirements and provide pragmatic recommendations that shape our system solutions.

Day-to-day responsibilities
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Leading workshops and meetings to understand business needs, challenge assumptions, and define clear objectives.
  • Process Analysis: Analysing current business workflows to document & help drive developments
  • Requirements Translation: Working closely with development teams to translate business needs into clear, unambiguous user stories and functional requirements.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Examining data from various sources using tools like SQL to identify trends and inform business decisions.
  • Project Delivery: Supporting the delivery of key projects by creating high-quality documentation, assisting with estimates, and ensuring alignment across cross-functional teams.
  • Agile Contribution: Actively participating in all Agile ceremonies, from backlog refinement and sprint planning to daily stand-ups and retrospectives.
About you

You are a natural problem-solver and a strong communicator who thrives on building effective relationships. You have a customer-first mentality and enjoy working as part of a busy team. With an analytical mind and a quality-driven approach, you can see the bigger picture whilst still focusing on the details that lead to successful project delivery.

You will have
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst, ideally within a retail or similar fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrable skill in requirements gathering through workshops, interviews and document analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working within an Agile environment and a solid understanding of the IT Development Lifecycle.
  • A proactive and collaborative mindset, with the ability to support and influence teams to achieve a common goal.
Technical skills we\'re looking for
  • A solid understanding of Agile principles and experience with backlog management systems (knowledge of Microsoft Azure DevOps is an advantage).
  • Basic data analysis skills, with experience using SQL and/or spreadsheets.
  • Proficiency with diagramming tools (e.g., Lucidchart) to create wireframes and model processes.
  • An understanding of business intelligence tools and their application.
