This is a rare opportunity for an ambitious individual to join a forward thinking practice in a key leadership position, with a clear path to Director level as the service line develops.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for managing and delivering legal disrepair workstreams for housing association and local authority clients, while also contributing to the wider building surveying team. The role combines technical delivery, client liaison and strategic growth of the disrepair discipline.

  • Leading on legal disrepair cases from inspection through to expert reporting.
  • Providing technical advice on defects, remedial works and compliance with current housing legislation.
  • Delivering a range of professional services including contract administration and specification writing.
  • Supporting clients in navigating the challenges of Awaab’s Law and improving housing standards.
  • Taking ownership of building and developing a specialist disrepair and defects service line.
What You’ll Need
  • MRICS qualification preferred, or extensive practical experience in legal disrepair surveying.
  • Strong technical knowledge of social and affordable housing.
  • Proven experience in defects analysis, contract administration and specifications.
  • Excellent report writing and client communication skills.
  • Ambition to lead a team and develop a growing area of the business.
Why Apply?

With the introduction of Awaab’s Law, the focus on disrepair has never been greater. This role offers the opportunity to be at the forefront of an industry defining issue — improving standards, influencing policy and making a tangible difference to communities.

Offering flexible hybrid working (3 days office / 2 from home), a supportive and progressive culture, and a clear route to Director, this is an outstanding opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their career while contributing to meaningful industry change.
