A municipal council is seeking a Building Control Manager in Nottingham to oversee building regulation applications and ensure compliance with statutory duties. Salary: Starting Salary is £56,730 (Level one) rising to £60,125 per annum (pro rata for part-time)

The role is responsible for overseeing the assessment of complex building regulation applications, managing responses to dangerous structures, and ensuring compliance with statutory duties. As a senior leader, the postholder will drive service improvement, workforce development, and innovation, while promoting equality, sustainability, and public safety.
The Building Control Manager will work collaboratively across departments and with external stakeholders to grow the service, maintain market competitiveness, and uphold professional standards. The role also involves providing expert technical advice and evidence in support of enforcement actions and legal proceedings, in partnership with the Council’s legal team. Through effective leadership and strategic oversight, the postholder will ensure the service remains resilient, responsive, and aligned with the needs of Nottingham’s communities and built environment.
