Bloomberg Economics already offers a comprehensive macroeconomic research service for Terminal subscribers. That includes detailed forecasts, supported by thorough and original thematic research.
We are seeking a data analyst to join our team to help build country-risk indicators for a period of 12 months. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of country risk indices.
Build a range of country-level risk indices using large datasets, in collaboration with other colleagues in Bloomberg Economics.
Build solutions to keep those indices up to date using APIs and automated scripts.
Contribute to the development of visualization tools to display those indices.
From time to time, collaborate with our Geoeconomics team to publish analysis featuring the country risk indices on the Bloomberg Terminal.
Experience working with Python to analyze large datasets, call APIs and visualize data in charts and dashboards.
Experience collaborating on data projects as part of a team using Git.
Basic knowledge of software engineering best practices (e.g., writing maintainable and scalable code, testing, code review).
English proficiency.
Academic or professional experience of applying statistical and econometric methods to analyzing data.
Experience applying quantitative methods to topics related to political science, environmental science or economics.
Degree in political science or economics.
Experience automating scripts using Apache Airflow.
Experience with other programming languages, especially R.
Some professional experience is a plus, but recent graduates with a proven track record of collaborating on data analysis projects are also welcome to apply.
