Biology Teacher – Secondary (Middlesbrough)

Location: Middlesbrough
Contract: Full-time / Part-time / Supply / Long-term

Protocol Education is working with secondary schools across Middlesbrough to recruit a Biology Teacher to deliver engaging and high-quality lessons across KS3 and KS4. This role is suitable for QTS-qualified teachers, ECTs, and experienced cover supervisors or teaching assistants with strong Biology subject knowledge.

The Role

• Deliver engaging and well-structured Biology lessons, including practical experiments and theoretical learning.
• Provide effective classroom cover when required.
• Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all students.
• Maintain strong behaviour management and a safe, positive learning environment.
• Support students in developing scientific enquiry, analytical thinking, and practical laboratory skills.

The Ideal Candidate

• Holds QTS or has relevant classroom experience in Biology (teachers, cover supervisors, or TA cover).
• Confident teaching Biology across KS3–KS4 (KS5 experience desirable but not essential).
• Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for science education.
• Reliable, adaptable, and proactive.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply).
