BIM/CAD Technician

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000

Location: Swindon

Region: Wiltshire

Overview

A Tier 1 civil engineering infrastructure principal contractor is seeking a BIM/CAD Technician to support the business’ implementation of BIM processes at a Tender and Project Level.

Responsibilities

• Producing and/or amending information and graphical drawings/models in accordance with the client or H TUK standard methods and procedures.
• Supporting the Tender or Project team in delivering beneficial outputs from the Information model (e.g. space proofing, clash detection, 4D schedules, Quantity take-offs, still images).
• Preparing models and drawings to demonstrate viability of the design and construction proposals.
• Supporting the BIM Manager.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Experience working as a BIM/CAD Technician within a Civils infrastructure team.
• Good knowledge of construction activities and infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of BIM/CAD packages including but not limited to AutoCAD (2D/3D) and experience of Bentley and Autodesk systems.
• Ideally have experience in using some of the following software packages:
  • Bentley MicroStation v8i & Connect Edition
  • Bentley Descartes Connect Edition
  • Bentley ProjectWise Connect Edition
  • eB / Assetwise, Office 365
• Although not essential it would be advantageous to have a relevant engineering, design or CAD degree (e.g. HNC, HND, BSc, BEng or MEng).
