Bid Manager - Construction

Our client, an established and reputable main contractor, is seeking an experienced and driven Bid Manager to join their Manchester-based team. You'll play a pivotal role in securing high-profile construction projects across the North West and beyond - spanning sectors such as residential, commercial, education, healthcare and industrial.

The Role

As Bid Manager, you'll be the driving force behind our tendering success. Working closely with the estimating, planning, commercial, and technical teams, you'll manage the full bid life‑cycle - from initial strategy development through to final submission and client presentation.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead bid management process from PQQ to ITT and post‑tender clarifications
  • Develop winning strategies, bid plans and compelling content aligned with client needs
  • Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely, high‑quality submissions
  • Facilitate workshops and reviews, driving solution development and continuous improvement
  • Write, review, and polish written proposals with consistency and impact
  • Maintain bid library and ensure knowledge‑sharing across teams
  • Engage with the wider business on pipeline opportunities and market intelligence
What They are Looking For
  • Proven experience managing bids for Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractors or consultancies
  • Strong understanding of UK construction procurement, frameworks, and contract types (JCT, NEC)
  • Exceptional organisation, attention to detail, and time management
  • Skilled communicator with excellent written and verbal presentation ability
  • Experience across sectors such as build, infrastructure, education, healthcare, or mixed‑use
  • Familiarity with Adobe InDesign (or similar DTP tools) a plus
  • APMP or similar professional qualification (preferred but not essential)
