Job summary

A leading recruitment agency in the UK seeks a Behaviour Support/Mentor in Wakefield. This role involves providing tailored support to help students improve their behaviour and build confidence. GSL Education are delighted to engage Behaviour Support/Mentors at schools around Wakefield, offering tailored support to help pupils build confidence and reach their goals.

As a Behaviour Support/Mentor, you will work closely with students, teachers, and parents to develop personalised plans that encourage positive behaviour and support academic and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one and small group mentoring for pupils with behavioural challenges.
  • Implement strategies to promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
  • Support students in developing self-discipline, confidence, and resilience.
  • Liaise with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure consistent support.
  • Monitor progress and maintain accurate records on behaviour interventions.
  • Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive school environment.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally in behaviour support or mentoring roles.
  • Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt strategies to individual student needs.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A professional approach to safeguarding and student wellbeing.
