Are you ready to embark on a fulfilling journey in PMLD Tutoring? Young Giants is currently seeking a passionate SEN Tutor and Mentor with PMLD experience to support a learner in Wandsworth. The tuition provision is in-person as one-to-one sessions at a venue within the community. All provision will be alongside a Learning Support Assistant (LSA). Young Giants is a holistic and inclusive term-time tuition and mentoring service, providing an alternative education provision supporting children who are temporarily out of school, as day time one-to-one tuition and mentoring.

As a managed education service, we remain responsible for the management and quality of education provided to each of our learners. Founded and run by qualified teachers, we work closely alongside our tutors in assessing and maintaining effective needs-based programmes of education support.

Your Role at Young Giants

As a PMLD Tutor you will play a crucial role in delivering a bespoke educational plan in an engaging and meaningful way. Your responsibilities will include:

• Deliver KS2/3 level Maths, English & Science
• Ability to provide a creative and flexible learning approach; incorporating a variety of activities and sensory integration based on the learner\'s interests to aid learning engagement
• Explore multiple modalities of learning; music, movement, water, visual arts, creative arts supporting a dynamic learning environment
• Demonstrate confidence and knowledge supporting young adults with PMLD and Autism
• Understand and support challenges with emotional regulation
• Adhere to consistent fixed termly timetables with scheduled lesson times
• Schedule: Flexible - morning/afternoon

• Commitment to fixed termly timetables and ensuring lessons run as scheduled to provide a predictable and reliable provision which the learner deserves
• Understanding it hasn\'t always been an easy path travelled to this point for our learners, compassion and empathy are key
• Minimum Bachelor\'s Degree or strong youth work experience/qualification
• Minimum 2 years teaching or mentoring SEN learners including ASD/ASC, ADHD & SEMH within SEND schools, youth groups or private settings
• Enhanced DBS on the DBS Update system or self fund the fee of £65.20
• Competent understanding of safeguarding and uphold mandatory training
• Ability to travel to outlined location

• Weekly hours: 18 hours on a self employed / PAYE basis
