Overview

Bank Senior Housekeeper – Shropshire

Location: Telford and Shrewsbury area

Hours: Various hours between 6am and 8pm, Monday – Friday

Pay: £12.51 per hour

Main duties of the job
  • Provide a range of housekeeping duties including cleaning in wards and in service user and staff areas.
  • Maintain the required standard of cleaning following correct procedures and frequencies.
  • Carry out cleaning duties in line with ward/area/location cleaning schedules (may include operating specialist equipment).
  • Undertake specialist cleaning and one-off cleaning duties as required by supervision.
  • Ensure a pleasant and well-maintained environment for service users.
  • Operate floor cleaning machinery and equipment as required.
  • Replenish disposables and consumables; store cleaning chemicals and equipment safely.
  • Assist with laundry duties as required; may include ward-based catering duties in conjunction with nursing staff to provide appropriate meals.
  • Support the supervisor on a day-to-day basis; assist with induction and training of new staff.
  • Contribute to policy and procedure comments; work as part of a team and complete own timesheets.
  • Respond to tasks during emergencies and periods of staff shortage; monitor and maintain stock levels; participate in cleanliness audits.
  • Open/lock buildings and set alarms as required to ensure premises security.
Skills and Experience
  • Experience in the NHS is desirable.
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and products.
  • Broad knowledge of specialist cleaning techniques and equipment.
