Relief Kitchen Assistant

Location: Holmer Green, High Wycombe, HP15 6RF

Pay rate: £12.27 per hour

Contracted hours: Relief

Cherry Garth care home is a welcoming and modern home, tucked away in the heart of the Holmer Green community, with easy access to High Wycombe. It provides 60 fully furnished individual rooms, across four wings, each with bright and sociable communal areas including lounges, dining areas and kitchenettes.

About the role

We’re currently recruiting for a Kitchen Assistant to join our passionate, hard-working and friendly catering team, to create delicious meals, snacks and drinks for our residents. You’ll get to know our residents, understand their likes and dislikes so that mealtimes are always a highlight of their day. You’ll work alongside other team members who are passionate about providing care, warmth and kindness to all those who live and work in our homes.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing meals, snacks and drinks for residents, contributing to a high standard of kitchen hygiene and food safety.
  • Get to know residents, understand their preferences, and help ensure mealtimes are a positive experience.
  • Work as part of a caring team to support residents and colleagues in the home.

About you

You don’t need previous formal catering experience, as we’ll provide training. It would be helpful if you hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate. We’re looking for someone who is keen on cooking and takes pride in kitchen hygiene standards. You’ll have a positive can-do approach, with good communication skills and be passionate about ensuring our residents receive the best service. You’ll be confident engaging with our elderly residents to understand their individual needs and enjoy being part of the wider team in the home.
