A leading mental health services provider in England seeks an experienced Band 8a Psychologist for CAMHS to provide essential support to children with eating disorders. Band 8a Psychologist – CAMHS ED – Sussex

Are you an experienced and dedicated Band 8a Psychologist with expertise in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) for patients with eating disorders? Pulse Mental Health is seeking passionate professionals like you to join our esteemed team in Hove, Sussex and make a positive impact on the lives of children and adolescents for an initial period of 3 months.

Responsibilities:

  • Routine and urgent assessments of children and young people. Clinical formulation of needs and proposal of interventions. Completing Dynamic risk assessments and ability to put in place and support risk management plans. Ability to work systematically with family and the wider professional network. Undertaking therapeutic work with children and families for various mental health and emotion wellbeing presentations.
  • Undertaking therapeutic work with children and families for various mental health and emotion wellbeing presentations. Ability to work as part of a MDT, able to communicate professionally verbally and written, experience using Electronic Patient record and ability to document in line with GDPR guidelines. Conducting clinical and line supervision to junior team members.

Skills and experience needed:

  • Be HCPC accredited
  • Able to complete urgent assessments
  • Show extensive experience with Eating Disorders
  • Extensive experience of working as a CAMHS Practitioner
  • Offer clinical treatment work and consultation
  • Experience of a wide range of young people’s mental health presentations
  • Can work well independently and as part of the team
