Job summary

A healthcare recruitment service in the UK seeks a Registered Nurse with experience in Fracture, Trauma, or Orthopaedic services. The postholder will be responsible for patient care assessments, developing care programmes, and supervising nursing staff. Candidates must be registered with the NMC and have at least 5 years of experience, including 2 years at Band 6. Ongoing professional development in Orthopaedic nursing is required. This role is vital for maintaining high standards of patient care.

Qualifications

  • 5 years’ post-registration experience with 2 years at Band 6 in relevant services.
  • Current NMC registration as an adult nurse.
  • Willingness to undertake further nursing education as needed.

Job description

The postholder carries continuing responsibility for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care, standards setting within the department and will be responsible for the deployment, supervision and teaching of students and other staff.

Responsibilities
  • Assess, develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care.
  • Clinically competent in the performance of venepuncture and cannulation.
  • Liaise with all hospital personnel on the provision of the service to ensure the highest quality of patient care and the most economical means of achieving it.
  • Act as consultant to all nurses on matters related to the specialty ensuring that nursing staff have available to them current information on which to base their nursing decisions.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse on Part 1 (Adult) of the Live Register of the NMC.
  • 5 years’ post-registration experience, 2 of which should be at Band 6, within Fracture, Trauma or Orthopaedic Services.
  • Hold a current recordable Fracture, Trauma or Orthopaedic Nursing Certificate qualification or equivalent.
  • Or Currently undertaking the Fracture Trauma & Orthopaedic Nursing course. Or Be willing to undertake the Fracture Trauma & Orthopaedic Nursing course.
