Job summary

A major NHS institution is seeking a Physician Assistant for a 12-month maternity cover in Renal Medicine. An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint an enthusiastic physician assistant to join the renal team for 12 months (maternity cover). The successful candidate will support the multiprofessional team to providing care to patients under the care of the renal team. You will work under the direction of a supervising consultant as part of a well established multidisciplinary team in providing acute inpatient care of nephrology patients, including kidney transplant recipients and patients receiving dialysis. You will gain extensive training in all aspects of renal medicine. This post is suitable for both newly qualified or experienced physician assistants.

Responsibilities
  • Work under the direction of a supervising consultant as part of a multidisciplinary team in providing acute inpatient care of nephrology patients, including transplant and dialysis patients.
  • Support care for kidney transplant recipients and patients on dialysis.
  • Gain extensive training in all aspects of renal medicine and develop a specialist interest in peritoneal dialysis, supported by the acute dialysis unit.
  • Collaborate with the multiprofessional team to deliver high-quality patient care.
