Job description
Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified physiotherapist or occupational therapist to join the Hand therapy team at UCLH. The Hand therapy team receives referrals mainly from Orthopaedics and Rheumatology and works closely with the Fracture clinic and the MDT. Our department is located in the centre of London and offers excellent educational opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Carry a caseload of mainly Orthopaedic and Rheumatology patients.
  • Deliver, co‑ordinate and evaluate the Hand therapy service.
  • Take responsibility, along with the clinical lead, for the operational management of the team.
  • Assist in the education, training and supervision of less experienced physiotherapy staff and other Allied Health professionals.
  • Implement, facilitate and develop Hand therapy best practice in line with local and national guidelines.
Qualifications & Criteria
  • Significant Hand therapy experience within the NHS, including Orthopaedics and Rheumatology (refer to Personal Specification).
  • Range of clinical reasoning and rehabilitative skills appropriate to the caseload, including splinting.
  • Evidence of ongoing CPD and knowledge of current legislation.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work flexibly.
  • Preferred: Advanced Practitioner level or support staff experience within a similar multidisciplinary team.
