A leading healthcare provider in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Band 7 Fetal Medicine Ward Manager. This role involves leadership and management of a midwifery team while ensuring high standards of care in the maternity unit. The ideal candidate should possess a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for fostering a supportive team culture in a challenging environment. In this role you will be expected to demonstrate strong clinical and leadership skills. You will work closely with the ANC/Fetal Medicine/ANNB Screening Matron and the existing ward managers, to ensure that the Maternity Unit is operationally safe, effective and well led. You will have a sound clinical knowledge base, and a passion for promoting team culture which supports and encourages innovators and motivators.
The role will require you to manage a team of passionate midwives, and appreciate the demands of the wider maternity service. You will demonstrate a high level of communication and organizational skills, and be a key stakeholder for the development and management of the individuals within the team. You will ensure high standards of midwifery and obstetric-led care are provided at all times, to maintain the safety of women and their families.
The Fetal medicine environment is both unpredictable and challenging. The Fetal Medicine Manager will be faced with many competing demands for attention and will be expected to exercise excellent judgement in dealing with both clinical and interpersonal challenges.
