We have an exciting opportunity to join the Dietetic team at Ashford and St Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as a permanent Band 7 Diabetes Dietitian. We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible, and committed Dietitian who will work as part of our Multidisciplinary Diabetes Team based at the Stephanie Marks Centre at Ashford and St Peters Hospital. The Diabetes Dietitian team provide expert Diabetes dietary advice to patients and their carers including structured education and other education relevant to individual management of diabetes. The post holder will take a lead role in managing, coordination and supporting the Insulin Pump service for the Trust, in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team.
The team members work closely with the Diabetes colleagues, Dietitians, other health care professionals, carers, patients and family members to optimise glycaemic control and improve long-term health and quality of life.
The Diabetes Dietetic team form part of the Ashford and St Peter's Dietetic Department to provide nutrition and dietetic services to patients and their carers including structured education and other education relevant to individual management of diabetes. The role will include taking a leading role in managing, coordination and supporting the Insulin Pump service for the Trust, in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team and to provide expert Diabetes dietary advice to patients and their carers including structured education and other education relevant to individual management of diabetes.
As a practitioner with a high degree of autonomy you will take responsibility for planning and delivering your own caseload acting as a source of expertise on dietetic/nutritional management to patients, carers, GPs, consultants as well as other health care professionals in both the hospital and community settings.
The successful candidate will take an active role within the general functioning of the Dietetic Department, including contributing to student training.
Flexibility, good organisational and prioritisation skills are essential to this role. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate excellent team working skills and enthusiasm.
