A regional healthcare provider is looking for a Band 6 Youth Justice Specialist Nurse to provide outreach health assessments to young people aged 10-18 in Cornwall. An exciting opportunity has arisen for one Band 6 Youth Justice Specialist Nurse post (22.5 hrs pw) working alongside the Youth Justice Service. You will be working directly with young people to identify their health needs to reduce their risk of offending. The YJ Specialist Nursing team provide comprehensive health assessments to young people aged 10-18 who are working with the Youth Justice Service. All health appointments are delivered on an outreach basis and also involve making referrals to relevant mainstream and specialist health services and liaising with your NHS and council colleagues. You will have the opportunity to have regular contacts with young people in order to build their trust and to deliver an individual package of care. This is a permanent post of 22.5 hours. The available post is based in the East area of the county and would need to attend clinical appointments.
This is a community-based role that requires frequent travel to various locations throughout the county including areas that may not be accessible by public transportation. Successful candidates will need to demonstrate how they will manage these travel requirements.
