Overview

Are you passionate about children's continence and being part of developing an expanding Tier 2 Community Children's Specialist Continence Service working across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland?

We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable registered nurse with experience in managing children's continence and with excellent communication and team working skills. This post is for 22.5 hours per week.

The post is part time with Mondays as a preferred working day. A full UK Driving License and access to a car during working hours are required for this role.

Responsibilities
  • The successful candidate will use specialist clinical skills and knowledge to support the continence needs of children/young people across Leicester City, County and Rutland.
  • Triaging referrals and identifying appropriate pathways of support and intervention on an individualised basis for children/young people with complex continence needs or who may require specialist interventions to achieve and maintain optimal bladder and bowel function.
  • Provide leadership to manage, develop, co-ordinate and enhance the role of clinical staff within the Specialist Children\'s Continence Service, while monitoring and evaluating the continence services provided within the community, ensuring the delivery of quality outcomes and managing risk.
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate programmes of evidenced based care to groups of patients according to changing healthcare needs and varying levels of complexity.
  • Provide continence advice and management to parents, carers and others who work with children and young people with continence issues, through clinical practice, teaching, research and development, as part of an integrated team.
  • Continually develop high standards of clinical practice and expertise within the service.
