Job description
Overview

We are looking for enthusiastic, committed and hardworking Children\'s Nurse to join our ED team. We welcome both newly qualified and experienced children\'s nurses. You must be able to work well under pressure and have a willingness to learn and develop your own skills. If this is you we would be delighted to hear from you. The successful candidate will be expected to provide the highest standard of evidence based, patient centered care. You will share our PRIDE values and our desire to continue to improve. All new staff appointed to posts are subject to a six month probationary period.

About the Department

Our busy Children\'s Emergency Departments cover two sites - Queen\'s Hospital in Romford and King George\'s Hospital in Goodmayes. We deliver a comprehensive range of general Paediatric and Surgical Services to our local communities. Our CED team is expanding; you will be learning and developing your knowledge whilst ensuring your skills are kept fully up to date. You will be supported by our Practice Development Nurse, Senior Sisters/Charge Nurses, Matrons and members of the wider MDT. Delivers a high standard of patient centred care focusing on the essences of care and clinical safety.

Responsibilities
  • Delivers a high standard of patient centred care focusing on the essences of care and clinical safety under initial assessment and supervision, and manages a group of patients.
  • Supports the senior emergency nurses and ED team by delivering a high standard of care and working within own scope of practice.
  • Ensures that a high standard of infection prevention and control is maintained within the service.
  • Develops themselves and supports others including students.

  • Sites: KGH in Goodmayes and Queens Hospital in Romford; the two busy emergency departments served over 330,000 visitors last year.
