Are you a dedicated and motivated nurse/ODP with experience in cardiac and thoracic surgery? Do you have a passion for excellence, patient safety and high quality care? Join our expert and dynamic Cardiothoracic Team at St. George's Hospital delivering exceptional care to patients. This is a rewarding opportunity to work alongside a multidisciplinary team committed to compassionate care, clinical excellence, safety and continuous improvement. We have 33 operating theatres between St George's and Queen Mary's Hospitals. Our staff work in teams and we are committed to giving Outstanding Care, Every Time to our patients. The main duties of this job role include providing excellent nursing care, and as skills and competencies develop, taking charge and actively participating in and contributing to the management of the theatre area or department on a regular basis.

  • Setting, monitoring and maintaining excellent standards of nursing care in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Ensuring that nursing procedures are carried out in accordance with Trust policies.
  • As skills and competencies develop, taking charge and actively participating in and contributing to the management of the theatre area or on a regular basis.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior staff.
  • Working to support cardiothoracic theatre services including on-call commitment.
  • We are looking for compassionate professionals who are able to prioritise in a busy clinical setting.
