Job description
Job Title: Technician – Plumber

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Technician – Plumber to join our team, supporting a wide range of mechanical, plumbing, and heating services across a busy operational environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out routine and non-routine plumbing and mechanical tasks.
  • Complete new works, repairs, and planned maintenance on heating, hot/cold water systems, mechanical plant, and associated equipment.
  • Respond to reactive maintenance requests and support minor new installation works.
  • Manage weekly planned preventative maintenance tasks efficiently.
  • Escort contractors undertaking inspections and installation works.
  • Adhere to all policies, procedures, Health & Safety and security requirements.
  • Maintain tool lists and ensure compliance at all times.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing, Refrigeration, or Mechanical Services.
  • Specialised training in a mechanical service (e.g. Gas, Refrigeration, Heat Pumps).
  • Water Safety Training.
Experience & Safety:
  • Experience working across mechanical, ventilation, or gas systems—installation and maintenance.
  • Previous experience within a NHS environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication skills and able to work effectively with all levels.
  • Computer literate.
  • Flexible and adaptable with a strong work ethic.
Other Requirements:
  • Own tools and PPE.
  • Full current manual UK driving licence.
  • Good attendance and availability to work:
    • Mon–Thurs: 08:00–16:30
    • Fri: 08:00–16:00
  • Ability to meet deadlines and travel to any London site when required.
  • Willingness to participate in the department’s out-of-hours on-call rota.
